  1. I think you should keep the description of pictures , videos and poems. It really helped me learn how to collect ideas and brainstorm about the simplest things and make them more complex.

  2. I think you should do more of a visual way of teaching like the videos in the beginning of the semester. Then I feel you should go into the analysis of poems and other stuff. Therefore,to teach what you taught at the end in the beginning.

    2. I completely agree with you visuals are a key component that made this class easier for students to learn. The reason is because many young teenagers are cultural used to videos, images and the internet and then would be more comfortably used to learning new writing analysis techniques.

  3. I think you should do visual learning and give out sample essay, so people know what you want in your essay. Use examples because it helps when we have to write an essay such as an example of analysis and complication.

  4. I think the analysis methods you taught us were very helpful and should continue to be a part of the class curriculum. I also overall thought each essay flowed well into each other, so maybe the order of each essay should be retained.

  5. I definitely feel like you should keep the analysis methods. I found them very helpful, and because there are multiple ones, students can learn which best suits them. I additionally feel like you should keep the work with videos in class. They were very enjoyable and generated interesting conversations for the whole class to participate in.

  6. The main suggestion I have would be to have more visuals on the projector or more handouts on sample essays to see how you would want us to format the writing. The only set back is that more visuals or samples may not prepare us for the college atmosphere because professors never provide samples of work because they want us to learn how to be more independent on how to write certain pieces of work.

  7. For me, brining in sample pieces of compositions you expected us to write was a good exercise.
Going over them as a group, seeing what worked and what didn't, I think helped us all get a better grasp of the type of organization and writing we're supposed to be doing.

Also, the live discussions we had around the original poems/paintings helped keep everybody engaged.

I think the more the classmates stay involved and thinking inside the classroom makes for a better use of time.
