When applying “The Notice and Focus Method”  to Van Gogh’s Starry Night painting, it helped me find the true meaning of the whole painting instead of only referring the meaning to one detail . Focusing on one specific detail branches out many different ideas and clarifies my thoughts better. The notice and focus method actually helped me not become so sidetracked on the whole painting, instead by looking at something as small as the stars in the night sky,  give me a meaning to why everything else in the painting is there. Helping me forcus on one to take notice of the facts first and interpret later. As I gather more and more ideas about what is being looked at, a much stronger conclusion was made because all the small points have been covered.  

This method gave me a much different way of thinking when trying to understand a concept not only when looking at a painting but when reading texts as well. It got me to think much more outside the box and helped me break down everything I saw, to gain a much deeper perceptive. Focusing on the smaller details helps understand the bigger ones to get the bigger picture. From my ideas when looking at the whole painting changed tremendously when applying this method, breaking down the small features gave me a better idea on what Van Gogh was trying to say through his painting and its meaning.
