Starry Night Prompt
I think the details of this "Starry Night" painting by Vincent van Gogh reveal many things about the nature of the painting. The details of that I find reveal various things about the nature of the painting are the clouds, color, algae resembling hill , the steeples, the apartments, the scenery of the town, the view point of the town and the strokes in the painting. The clouds because they look unusual they may mean that it is something more up there in the sky. The color blue because that is the prevalent color but could mean that there is a cool and relaxed feeling. Algae's resembling hill remind me of either smoke or something that was a memorable event by the way its in bold and in contrast to the prevalent color. The steeples and apartments makes me think this is a town that's important to Vincent van Gogh by the way he is so descriptive of it. The scenery of the town is peaceful because there's not that many people outside. The view point of the town is an outer view so it makes me think that he's looking at the town the outside looking in. The strokes in the painting make me think of fear since its not smooth strokes. These detail make me think that the town is quiet too quiet that something serious is going on and also the view point combines with the idea that he wants to stay away from the town because it is evil and has a lot of despair. Peoples lights on and looking peaceful in their houses showed me that they didn't know that evil was on its way. The town showed up like a evil sadness was on its way and above them by to be full of sadness by all of the chill blue. All of this make me think that the town ignores the evil that is on the way and enjoy every moment of there lives since they have no way of preventing evil from coming. The church and the steeple looks as is everyone is very religious and turns to there religion for answers. Since in the mountains it is dark and evil is coming they turn to there religion for help since its so close to town. This reminded me of the Dust Bowl when the people in America thought that the dust coming from everywhere was evil and turned to religion from help.
